Humanity is getting three more space stations this decade, and on Thursday, NASA signed just as many mammoth deals with the companies that will build them.
Lockheed Martin, Nanoracks and Voyager Space are collaborating on the development of a commercial space station – Starlab – which would be continuously crewed and support in-space research and commercial activity.
The commercial real estate market in low-Earth orbit is heating up as Voyager Space Holdings Inc.’s Nanoracks plans a new private space station to help replace NASA’s existing orbital laboratory.
