PARIS — The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rejected allegations that it was moving to slowly in licensing spaceports and rocket-launch operations, saying it is much faster than its U.S. counterpart.

In June 13 testimony to the U.K. Parliament’s Science and Technology Committee, CAA officials said they were moving as quickly as possible to process applications but they could not say whether an inaugural flight from a U.K. spaceport would occur in 2022.

The UK government had set a 2022 launch . . .
