Gerry Egan has been in the aviation industry for over 25 years with expertise across several sectors including remote helicopter operations, major airlines, MRO's and consulting. Former VP, Harbour Air seaplanes. More recently Gerry led the worlds first all electric commercial test flight December 2019. His passion for aviation started early while he was spending time mountaineering, requiring him to fly to his destinations in helicopters. Turning his passion to his profession, Gerry moved from management to executive roles across a variety of business development, global transformations and turnarounds, operations, supply chain and maintenance. Gerry holds an MBA from IE Business School and continues to travel the adventurous side of our world with his wife in his spare time.

Jim Sherman joined Vertical Flight Society in May 2019 as the Society's director of strategic development, responsible for setting and executing the Society's strategy for promoting membership development and growth. Jim in particular is responsible for supporting the development of the "Electric VTOL Revolution" and expanding the Society's membership in this fast-growing market segment. Jim has over 25 years of business development, project management and engineering experience with expertise in developing technology for aerospace, automotive, military, and consumer products. Jim has BS in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University, MS in electrical engineering and MBA from Binghamton University.
Taras Wankewycz founded Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies in 2003, which led to several spin-offs including Hyzon Motors (a new US company building hydrogen trucks), and HES Energy Systems (specialised electric flight laboratory). Taras and his team have powered some of the very first hydrogen powered flights (NASA, 2006), and worked with many unmanned aircraft builders around the world for the past 15 years. In 2017, Taras has announced plans to scale up hydrogen-electric propulsion to manned aircraft platforms with the launch of Element One Aviation. A first attempt for a long-range Atlantic crossing of a hydrogen-electric test aircraft is planned for 2022, in a program backed by the European Union and Toulouse region.
Hank Wiseman is a technology solutions business development manager in Nidec Motor Corporation's corporate business development office. At Nidec, Hank is responsible for "Blue Ocean" projects where new ideas, customers, and partnerships are identified, fostered, and promoted to become $100M+ businesses. Previously, Hank worked for Boeing Defense Space & Security leading maintenance, modification, and upgrade programs for a variety of international and domestic customers and their platforms. Hank is passionate about science education and has volunteered and been a board member for NAESC, Botball, and others organizations dedicated to the cause.
